Since August 2022, Chateau Neercanne has joined the sustainability movement by embracing compostable PLQ straws crafted from wheat straw stalks and lignocellulose. After enjoying your drink, these straws can either enrich Dutch soil when tossed in the garden or contribute to a farmer's crop as nutrient-rich material when placed in the organic waste bin. The beauty lies in their dual degradation pathways - a natural breakdown aided by bacteria and enzymes, or an industrial composting route. This versatility makes them particularly handy for those with their own green spaces, just like Chateau Neercanne! 🌿🌱

As for CYCLUPS, we are currently in the certification phase for PLQ straws, eagerly working to validate their home compostibility claim. This means that these straws naturally decompose within a mere 12 months, returning to the environment through the collaborative efforts of bacteria and enzymes. This is a far cry from other biodegradable products that might take a staggering 5-10 years to naturally break down. Imagine the difference - consider a paper straw or wooden cutlery. 🕰️🍃

Over the past 6 months, CYCLUPS and Meldon have synergized tirelessly to establish a robust process. Our shared goal is rapid scaling to meet the surging global demand. 💼🌎
